Hola,
estoy aqui de vacaciones en argentine y me encanta esto.
On thrusday the 7th I flew about 16h from Sydney to Buenos Aires and arrived at the 7th again just 2 hours later as I left Sydney....nice
On the bus from the airport to the city...I met a guy from sydney with whom I tried to find a BP´s which wasn´t full. We were quite lucky because the second BP´s called Salto which is located in salta rd(centro) had a free bed already. We had one more person in our dorm, and guess which nationality he was.....German. He´s a travel agent so he was travelling for the last 15 years at least once a year to south america...so it was lucky again bumping into such a guy in the first place. He was able to tell us where to go where not to go in south america, how long we should stay at least at some places, or which is the best way to get to places....of course I wrote everything down...
In the evening we went out for a nice argentinien dinner... I had a 500g rump steak with mushroom souce and papa frites mmmmhhh... delicious
Afterwards we went to an irish pub and exchanged heaps of travelstories and experiences...
Yesterday I met a 30 year old chillian girl with her great aunt...so her grandmas sister who is 78 years old, in the lounge of our BP´s having breakfast!!!!!
So we got into a conversation about travelling(that´s how it always starts) and figured out that the "granni" was living in Buenos Aires(BA) for about 30 years before she moved to Miami Beach.... So she became a tour guide for our very first day in BA...
Which means she was leading a group of 5 people through trainstations, on to a boatride, to La Boca which is a really art influenced suburb of BA and couple of other attractions... she was always walking in the front, cos she was faster than most of us...and after approx. 10 hours of sightseeing, when my feet were sour, she still wanted to catch the bus to show us a tango bar three suburbs a way from the center at 11pm at night..... AMAZING wow... 78 years old....
The best part was when she told the australian guy and me that we could take the train if we were to exhausted, but she´d carry on walking because it was ¿just? another 1.5km to go and that was at 10 o´clock...honestly, this women gets a 100% of my respect!!!!
....I think i definatly fell in love with the times people heading of to clubs or even dinner here in BA. Dinner is usually between 9 and 12 and the first time u start thinkin about going to a pub is 12...if u want to go clubing, then I´d recommend a nap between 7pm and 10pm cos until 3 o´clock is not much going on in the big clubs... but therefore the clubs are open until6- 7am sometimes 8am, ... and I´d say here comes my second WOw...
Today is saturday and that means....wake up time was 2.30pm, our plan is to have a kind of lunch around 5.30 then a nap until 10...dinner at 11pm and afterwards into a pub until it´s late enough to go to a club...
gonna tel u how it worked out 2moro
...ahh nearly forgott to mention that I´m going to Uruguay, either tomorrow or on monday, but I´m def. coming back to BA again before I head of to the north ¿archentina?...
Adios from BA
Simon
